Purple created, developed, and produced several interactive concepts for Mercedes Benz (NL) during the 2012 AutoRAI fair for commercial transport vehicles. Mercedes Benz faced a major problem in the build-up to this event. The brand new Mercedes Benz Citan, of which only a couple of cars were produced at the time, was not available in time to be presented at the AutoRAI.
The only way to solve this problem was to create a virtual copy of the van using Augmented Reality technique. Using several 3D models and augmented reality, Purple created a mobile app that enabled people to see the 3D model of the Citan on the screen of any mobile device.
Furthermore this guerilla-marketing application enabled people to pose at competitor stands and take a picture, with a 3D model of a Mercedes Benz truck right next to them.
